On behalf of the Logan County Board of Education, we are pleased to announce the selection of Finley Baird as the Director of Student Services for Logan County Schools.
Finley is a Logan County High School graduate. She also attended Lindsey Wilson College, where she played basketball and earned her Associate’s degree in Computer Science. She moved onto Western Kentucky University, where she played basketball as a Lady Topper and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and her Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services. She stayed at WKU where she had an outstanding career, spending 27 years working as an administrator in the Office of Admissions.
Ms. Baird currently serves as head coach of the Lady Cougar basketball team, and she will remain head coach while assuming her new role. “Finley Baird models class, poise and professionalism on the sidelines as a coach. Those qualities and many more will help her earn the respect of others, and allow her to make a positive impact on the lives of our students,” said Dr. Kevin Hub, superintendent.
She is a lifelong learner who seeks opportunities to grow and learn far beyond what is required. She welcomes the insight of others, eager to learn truly effective ways to make a difference in the lives of students. “Her experience helping students successfully transition from high school to college is exactly what we need in Logan County, and helped distinguish her from the other outstanding applicants for this position. Finley is a visionary leader, with a passion for excellence. She will be a great addition to our leadership team,” said Hub.
When asked about her new role, Finley says “I am excited about this opportunity and the chance to return home to Logan County. I am looking forward to working with the students in Logan County to help move them to the next level of their education. Every time I spoke with Dr. Hub, I sensed the confidence he had in my ability to do the job. I can’t wait to start.”
Finley lives in Bowling Green with her son Ashton. She begins her new role on Monday, May 18.
